I hope you don't mind but I have a question for you:

On the India page have you got your credit card or paypal details already entered?
Well, you hit the nail on the head. Thank you very much.

When I set up the new account in India I had cleared the payment info section. This morning I went in and added payment info to the 'my account' section and the promo code option appeared when I chose to buy a book.

I then went back to my original Canadian Kobo account and deleted the credit card info and lost the promo code option. I've now added it back but I am rather concerned about the implications of this. Anyone who wants to use promo codes has no choice but to register credit card info. While I have been ok with allowing Kobo to have my credit card info for the last few years, I only did so because of the hassle of re-entering with every book I bought. Anyone who does not want card info stored will have to clear the account payment info after every purchase and add back in the next time. Probably not such a big deal in the grand scheme of things since most of us are used to entering such info with new purchases on most sites anyway.

This change is clearly related to the switch to the new "look" and the cart option now in place in Canada, US, UK and India (sites I have tried). In Mexico the old checkout option is still in place so no need to register credit card info in order to use promo codes.

By the way, 75off and bookriot50 worked in India today; 85off and 95comic did not.
