I use Virtual Libraries to further establish structures in my eBook collection. As I got more acquainted to the features in calibre, I started using a "ondevice:false" virtual library to have an overview of which books in a large series I haven't transferred yet. But this approach only works when the device is connected, otherwise it shows my full library.

Is there a way to make that VL pop up once metadata has been retrieved from a connected device?

might work if this field is the one that is ONLY being populated from your import.
