I think the Cybook is quite reliable. I bought one for Xmas 2007 and it's still going strong. The 512 I bought, so that Hubby could have my original, is working fine as well. Even though it has been dropped a few times, sometimes out of it's cover. Recently it was knocked out of my hands hard enough onto the Ferry floor that it had to be reset and the top right of the case was out of alignment and had to be "snapped" back in place. Two weeks later and it is working just as well as it did before, I think the cover saved it this time.
