Thank you for the reply, and also the creation of such excellent software open to us all.
I have tried converting to AZW3, and you are correct that SVG comes out very clear, however there are two other issues I am running into with the AZW3 conversion.
1. AZW3 doc takes a awhile to load, about 3 minutes. If I barely touch the ebook browser Calibre crashes. It will first load the cover pages, if I scroll down it then needs another 3 minutes to load the rest of the document. I have to be careful to not scroll too far down or the software crashes.
2. Once AZW3 loads, MathJax is only partially converted. It will make font sizes larger so it doesn't fit where it needs to, so it will throw some of the equations around on the page. Also, in many of the equations, boxes will be in place of the numbers.... I would say about 60% of the MathJax is rendered, where the other 40% has some sort of error in it.
The conversion process doesn't seem to show errors (I changed titles of the book with ....................., as I have talked to the author and he doesn't mind what I am doing, as there is a free online version I am pulling this from, however he is worried about how the publisher might take it, and pull the free online version that he wants up and running):
