I like them a lot also. Very fun to read.
Maybe Dick Francis and Jeffery Deaver could be recommended here. I also think that Ian Flemming and Peter O'Donnell (Modesty Blaise) are entertaining and easy to read. Maybe Alistair MacLean fits also.
