Latest firmware using the "stock" Kobo software?

Hello.

Lots of people reporting and fixing issues with firmware updates with respect to interfacing their Kobos with Calibre. However, I just use the Kobo Desktop software to sync books that I buy from the Kobo store. I don't get books elsewhere and I don't sideload books.

I'm curious if anyone uses their Kobo the same as me and if they have as many issues with the latest firmware?

I have seen a thread about depleted battery life after update but it doesn't seem to affect a lot of people. I'm still on 2.8.1 and I buy my books from Kobo using the store on the device itself so as not to have to update. I'm curious if it's worth the update or if I should just hold off.

Thanks!

Kelly
