I've read about 80, heavily weighted away from Litfic and towards popular fiction. Most of the others I have not the slightest inclination to read. I don't see why I must read them. Nor even why I should.

Interesting to see Max Havelaar on the list: nonfiction, and it made real change happen.

There is of course a strong English Language bias--this is predominantly an English language forum after all--and a very strong bias towards the trendier highbrow material.

On the whole, I think I'd rather read Hiassen's "Stormy Weather" again than read Nabakov's "Pale Fire" again.

You could have a wonderful time debating the ones NOT in the list.
