I'm about to travel outside of USA, Christmas trip, and I like to "travel light". The less worried about cables and electronic stuff, the better for me. But at the same time, keeping my Kindle alive during such a long trip is key for me.

So do you rely on the 1, 2 or 3 weeks of battery or not?

My 1-3 weeks of battery is much closer than one and if I'm reading for an 8 hour travel day, I can run my devices down pretty fast. I can't imagine anything more miserable than running out of books on a trip! So charger and adapter it is...I don't rely on a laptop because I don't always travel with one--I rely on my smartphone on personal trips. I don't think I've ever gone on a trip where I haven't recharged my phone and Kindle--I read a lot when I travel (2 hours in airport, 3 hours on plane, from 10 pm to 1 am...it all adds up
