No improvement here, either; on iPad 1, I'm still getting the "Item no longer availble" error pop-up. Of course, I could easily resolve this by copying the required install file from iPad 3 and installing it on iPad 1 using iFunBox, but for now, I'm leaving it "as is", for testing purposes.
Seeing as it's definitely Apple who screwed up here, I don't see how Apple could possibly fault Kris for simply making the installation file available for download from his website.
The real point, though, is that iPad 1 is an ancient piece of machinery by now, 4 years old soon. It still works fine for me (and that's amazing!), but one should not expect too much from it these days. As to anyone not willing to pay the symbolic $2.99 for the superb software that Marvin is, they should go jump in a lake.

For testing purposes, Marvin Free is more than sufficient.
