If you don't like them now, they won't get any better.
Have been participating since the very first time they did it - I got around by using my UK account. If they offer something different, I might login just to get it.
They're always stuff from the year - Music/the videos, apps, games, TV episodes, and one year they threw in an indie movie. This year, it's going to be a rental according to the TOS.
I don't remember there being any books though.
