Best ask B&N help - the Nook UK store doesn't seem to offer gift cards so it may not accept them either, especially since they will be in US dollars.

In the parallel Amazon case I suggested buying a UK gift card in pounds with a US plastic card.

You might look to see if other UK ebook stores have the book and have gift cards that you can purchase. Luzme.com will help.
