If you've ever read "Pride and Prejudice", you may have noticed that the neighbours of the Bennet family are "Sir William and Lady Lucas", whereas Lady Catherine de Bourgh, as the daughter of an Earl and hence a title holder in her own right, is addressed as "Lady Catherine".
