It's obvious that this stands for John Doe, ie the US police term for a person/body with no identification. I doubt that it's the member's name, just as my name isn't BookCat. Why not invent a name? Here's a few, (sorry if they've been used, but you'll be told this if you try to register them): CoolRead; EMan; Newbie; MrBlank. I'm sure you could come up with something which suits you better.
