--verbose does nothing, to see debug info, you have to start using calibre-debug -g
This is because gui applications ons ome platforms (windows) have no access to stdout/stderr at all.
Ah, yes you cannot add a restore defaults button to the dialog button box, but you can add it inside your widget itself.
