The few reviews I found about the Dell Venue 8 Pro unfortunately all (really 100% of those!) massively criticise the pen. Unresponsive and not very precise, all state.
In this case, I'd probably buy it without a pen.
I could live with this, I'm not sure about jotting notes on an 8" unit anyway.
On the other hand, I find the pens on Surface Pro and Latitude 10 surprisingly useful...

Like you said: A Surface Pro 8" would be the safest choice.

So it seems I have to wait as well.

I'm still a bit tempted about the Toshiba Encore.
My closest Saturn Markt (unfortunately for my bank account) is within walking distance.
I'll be there this afternoon for a last few Christmas purchases and will take another look at it.
But a few days ago I simply found it a bit too bulky and simply not "stylish and cool".
If I don't get the "must have" reaction at first glance, that's usually not a good sign...
