Sorry for causing such confusion. I recently discovered another novel and six more stories by Mr. Altsheler, and I decided to remove "Altsheler's Stories" from the free books. I might put it back some day in the future when I reach the point where I think I have collected all of the stories which can be collected. Meanwhile, it will be available on the internet. I will update it with the new stories as I complete their acquisition and editing.
I also merged "Altsheler Miscellany" into "Altsheler's Stories," and that will probably be a permanent thing.
Finally, I removed "The Golden Leaf" from the free books. This was an unpublished manuscript by Mr. Altsheler which I edited (with numerous necessary changes) and published this year (2013). I will probably sell it for a while. I will probably also sell the next novel (currently not available anywhere on the internet) for a while.
In summary, the current number of titles available free is 49. Two titles which were free are now for sale on the internet. One title has been merged into another ebook (and is available on the internet inside "Altsheler's Stories."
I will email a free copy of "The Golden Leaf" to anyone who requests one before January 1, 2014. Send your request to altsheler at woodwardworks dot com (anti-spam address; you need to fix it). I hope that makes up a little for the confusion I caused.
