How do you know what a cat likes to scratch on? If you have different surfaces available, it'll try all of them to find the on it likes best. I find it strange that your sofa hasn't been a scratching victim yet


With regard to reading chairs: I've a chair in my study / computer room that can be titled backward as far as 140 degrees or so. It's my desk chair. Normally it's upright, but when I want to read, I tilt it backward and combine it with a foot stool. I don't have the room in here to put in a chair specifically for reading, and I like this chair better than the couch for reading.
