The Altsheler books are enjoyable, easy reads. He finds a way for his teen-aged protagonists to witness important historical events. There's a strong "we were there" vibe.

Typical for their time, these novels present a boy's view of war, that is, the worst horror and bloodshed are omitted. And Altsheler's young heroes are improbably competent, but that tendency is balanced by the way the author emphasizes the teamwork required for success.

Here I've been working to collect these and tidy them up, and someone's done a much better job of it! Good for them!

The various Altsheler series just cry out for the omnibus treatment. That would also have to be done by someone with better skills than I have. Anyone? Anyone?

EpubMerge, which is an add-on to calibre, will join all the titles together, if I'm understanding you.

I frequently use this tool to create omnibus editions.
