Landor, Walter Savage: Poetry. V2. 19 March 2014

Second Delivery of Landor's Poetry. Completeness is impossible, but this should cover the essentials now.

Walter Savage Landor (30 January 1775 – 17 September 1864) was an English writer and poet. His best known works were the prose Imaginary Conversations, and the poem Rose Aylmer, but the critical acclaim he received from contemporary poets and reviewers was not matched by public popularity. As remarkable as his work was, it was equalled by his rumbustious character and lively temperament. (Wikipedia)

A good biographical article can be found at Poetry Foundation.

Contents of this edition:
  • Gebir, Count Julian, and other Poems, 1831.
  • Miscellaneous Poems from The Works of W. S. Landor, 1846.
  • Poems from Last Fruit Off an Old Tree, 1853.
  • Dry Sticks, Fagoted, 1858.
  • Hellenics, New Edition, 1859.

A complete alphabetical index is included.

OCRed and proofread from Google scans at the Internet Archive:
Gebir - Count Julian, Works 1846, Last Fruit, Dry Sticks, Hellenics.

In spite of thorough proofreading, errors are unavoidable. Please contact me about any you may find.

Changes in V2, 19 March 2014:
  • Added Gebir, Count Julian, and other Poems (1831) and the revised and enlarged 1859 edition of the Hellenics.
  • Fixed some errors and made some changes to the formatting (mainly throwing out the decorative elements, which I found less and less satisfying over time; they simply didn't fit Landor's "classical restraint" (to quote our friend Prestidigitweeze) and have been replaced by asterisks at the end of each poem which link back to the TOC of their volume).
  • Ah, yes: Added those inline TOCs for each of the five volumes.
