Regarding the discussion above about the relative scarcity of interesting freebies of late, I have noticed that too. What is further annoying is that for quite a number of freebies geographical restrictions apply.

On the other hand, I am perfectly happy to pay for a good backlist ebook. If I own the paper copy, obviously not as much as for the new book, but still. I am wary to try out new authors though if I have to pay list price and only do so if they either wildly fascinate me or come highly recommended. So I would think it is still in an author's interest to offer books at a bargain price occasionally to attract new readers. And I am very happy to see these books pointed out here!
