Android Phone Recommendation?

Hello all, I've been considering a switch away from iPhone to an Android phone. My current iPhone 4 is 3.5 years old -- a pretty fine device, but increasingly behind the times. I find iOS 7 revolting, whereas I'm pleased by Android 4.4 KitKat on my Nexus 7.

Below are the phones I'm considering for purchase... If I abondon iPhone, I'll be acutely missing 3rd-party apps like Marvin and Mailbox. For Marvin, perhaps Moon+ Reader Pro might jump in, until Marvin arrives on Android. For Mailbox, there is no feature-equivalent alternative right now, but I could continue managing my e-mail primarily on my iPad.

My candidates:
My primary use would be -- you guessed it -- e-books. Which is why I'm considering phablets like the Note 3 or Xperia Z Ultra. The phone function is secondary for me. I prefer a pure Android experience, which is why I'm ruling out Samsung Galaxy S4 (would rather get Nexus 5 among 5-inch devices). Motorola Moto G has a smaller screen, but the price is unbeatable. iPhone 5S has the apps, but a small screen and is (as usual for Apple) insanely overpriced.

Any comments or specific recommendations will be appreciated.
