I don't think it will matter much what stylus you use because it's an infrared touchscreen, not capacitive. And the Kobo Glo is not near as responsive as the Sony readers, so again, a stylus won't change that.

I've noticed different firmware versions can make a difference. I used to use 2.5.1 and at least 50% of the time I had to use multiple swipes to turn a page and up to 4x for a page. When I switched to 2.4.0 for another reason, I found I rarely need to swipe a page a 2nd time.

Taps work better than swipes on the Kobo, but it's just an unnatural thing for me, I prefer the swipe. And if I'm holding the reader in my left hand, I can't use a tap to turn the page.
