Second reason I wanted Kobo is because I am using Kindle PW2 so I got tired of embedding fonts in Calibre and wanted a reader that offers fonts options. So I only convert to kepub and after side loading choose Amasis which exists on Aura HD. And the book was freezing...
Not to talk about me trying Aura for the sd card slot which PW doesn't have, only to discover that using sd card also causes bugs....I have to admit I am a bit disappointed, but the reason might be that I am too long Kindle user to be able to peacefully deal with all the bugs.
In any case thanks to you and other members here, I am still not throwing Aura into the wall

For me, the features added by Kobo for it's .kepub.epubs are cold pancakes and no honey. Other than the title at the top of the page, I haven't found much difference in the appearance of an .epub vs. a .kepub.epub. The reading stats are not of interest to me and the chapter reading times are good only when I'm looking for a chuckle. If nothing else, I don't get the chapter loading freeze.
As for the uSD card causing bugs? The only two I've run into were the cover images issue and Calibre (thanks, DavidFor!) solved that one and the slow boot times in some firmware versions which Kobo seems to have fixed now.
I do like playing with such things as Metazoa's patcher but that's more due to a love for playing with my toys rather than any strong dislike for the appearance of an unpatched epub.
