Which desktop app fails? Kobo's own? Or one dependent on Adobe DRM? Because yeah, the latter will defiinitely fail.

I'd log on to the website, and see if the title is still in your library, under either the "Purchased" or "I'm Reading" categories. If it's only found in "Trash", you'll have to undelete it from there. If found only in "Purchased", open it up in the web for reading and browse a page or to. That makes it a title in the "I'm reading" category.

Then, a sync from your Kobo desktop app should produce the title in your Kobo Desktop app library. Once a title is in your Kobo Desktop app library, you should be able to use the methods hinted at in the thread cited above.

[Disclaimer: I was not aware that there are some titles that will not even sync to the Kobo desktop app, as suggested above. THAT's just stupid on Kobo's part.]
