Version 1.7.2 is simple to install with wine, the only trick is that once installed and once the device has been plugged in, you need to use wine configuraion to set the device's drive type to "Floppy disk" (under Drives > Show Advanced).

I gave up trying to install version 2.0, as version 1.7.2 does everything I need: download Adobe DRM epubs, authorize/deauthorize devices, transfer to device.
There are reports that Adobe won't authorize things because "Update available", can I assume this isn't true?
