The compatibility lists at http://appdb.winehq.org have all the instructions necessary to make programs run under wine. Lots of programs require all kinds of tweaks to run properly.

In this case, .NET for the later versions of ADE. You will need to follow the instructions here: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManage...ation&iId=6326

And be aware that ADE 2.0 has not been tested as working on Ubuntu but it has been tested as working on fedora; the difference seems to be that the Ubuntu test was on wine 1.5.27 and the successful fedora run was on wine 1.7.5

Considering that the current main wine package for all the versions of Ubuntu seems to be 1.4, you will probably have to install a later, beta version of wine from the testing repo to get it to work.

You should be able to get ADE 1.7 working, but I don't know how you can possibly download it, since Adobe doesn't offer it anymore, and I haven't found any results on Google during my admittedly cursory inspection.

Best of luck!

EDIT: While I was writing this, someone sneaked in and answered with a link to ADE 1.7 and that is great news!
