How to access kePub file on tablet?

I dont know if I am allowed to ask this here, or if I'm asking in the right place, so apologies if I am breaking rules.

I bought an ebook from Kobo only to discover after I had bought it that it would only download to a tablet, iOS or android platform. So I am assuming that means its a kePub file? I have managed to get it to show up in my Kobo app on my tablet, but I would like to add it to my Calibre on my laptop.
I can read the book in the app, however when I connect my tablet to my laptop and look in the Kobo > ePubs folder, its empty (I have only ever bought this one book with this Kobo account).
When I look in the Kobo folder on the tablet itself I can see what must be the file, and I can make a copy of it in a different area on my tablet but it still isnt visible on my laptop.
I would really appreciate any help with this please, or even directions to the right place to ask if I shouldnt be asking here.
Many thanks
