Cool Happy new HD owner!

Just got my new Aura HD in the post. Very happy camper! The screen size is perfect for me (giving almost as much text per page as a standard pocket paperback with my preferred font settings), and the clarity is just unbelievable. On my old retina iPad 3, I am just barely able to see the pixels on curved, sharp edges (like text). But on this screen, not a hint nor ghost of aliasing. It looks sharper than a printed page.

I was worried that the bezel would be too shiny, but it's not glossy like on a PlayStation Vita, it's a little more matte than that, so for me at least the fingerprint situation is totally acceptable. My old PRS-650 was worse than this.

The lighting is fantastic, even dimmer and more comfortable than a 2.gen Glo on the lowest setting. Not even sure I'll have need of the nighttime mod.

I WAS gonna celebrate the supersharp screen and the new, larger storage space by buying and reading the manga Lone Wolf and Cub. But after buying, there is no download link in the library, and neither my Kobo Desktop nor the storefront on the HD itself even acknowledge that that book exists. Have left a ticket with Kobo, curious what they'll say.

It is noticeably heavier than a Glo, but not more so than a hefty paperback book. I like to hold things with a little heft to them; with the feather light new Aura I'd probably be afraid all the time that it would just slip from my fingers.

I got the Gecko slimfit sleepcover, and am very happy with that also. It's just a tad more slippery than real leather, but I can live with it. The footprint is identical to my old Glo sleepcover, which just goes to show how much space was wasted with that one.

All in all, VERY happy! I even got the 3.1.1 FW right there on first installation and sync.
