In excel 2007 [LIST][*]click the top left corner cell - the one above the row number 1, ie the one with the triangle.
[*]in Data click the Sort button (not the A-Z↑↓), now select the column(s) to sort on

Tried that before it just comes up cannot do for more than one column and there are two author and book title
Always been able to do it don't know why I cannot now
