I only read on my Fire as a backup, usually when I am at home when I want to also use some apps or do not take the PW out of my purse or when I am out of town and I only want to take one device with me.
The Fire will never be my primary reading device because you cannot read in sunlight and most importantly it does not have a long enough battery life for the extensive amount of reading that I do. I read for several hours a day and I like not being tied to charging it on a daily basis. There also times when I need to read without the distractions of all the other apps/features of a tablet.
