I have seen this same issue with just one kepup that I bought from kobo (Goldfinch) but I use epubs for the most part anyway to avoid the wasted header space on kepups, so I might have the issue with some others as well but I tried several others with no issue. There must be something about some kepubs that the access render engine doesn't like.
