You can side load all of your books via Calibre, and use the various plugins to create collections and other good things.

I haven't tried downloading from internet sites such as gutenburg, as I prefer to use Calibre to manage my library. I don't need any hacks, just Calibre+plugins.

I use a Kobo Glo, as I like the lighted screen.
