Thank you for calming down this discussion. The duh thing from your post wasn’t necessary at all and it forced me to use the duh thing as well plus some added value. Now – after the duh things disappeared from our posts – our exchange looks much better.

The above statement is just the description of the state of your mind. You assume that I seemingly ignore that fact. I don’t.

If firmware 5.4.2 disables richy1989’s hack then people which bought the device with this firmware version on board should try to find some other hack. The simplest method worth to check is to put some empty file into update.bin.tmp.partial directory because in Unix to remove a non-empty directory is the other thing than to remove an empty one.

You have too many devices. You may install the subsequent firmware updates and check whether richy1989’s hack still works. I own just two devices and use just one of them so I’m happy that I locked it against the present and the future firmware updates.
