We will know for sure in 6 months. I'm guessing, but I think we will see new Paperwhites every Spring and new Fires every Fall. Right now Paperwhites and Fires compete with each other in the Fall. Not too many customers would buy a new Paperwhite and a new Fire within a month of each other.
It would simply be good marketing strategy to split their introductions by 6 months.
