You might also want to use epubcheck and Flightcrew to error check the epub. Epubcheck can be run locally or on-line while Flightcrew is included in Sigil.

I would agree that 53 items over 5 screens is not that large a ToC. I've seen much longer ToCs especially in omnibus books.
