I've owned a windows phone and iPhone. I really liked the build quality of the windows phone (nokia one) but hated the OS. I prefer the iPhone out of the two, but the longer I've owned it, the more and more I feel restricted in my uses of it by Apple and thats really putting me off getting another (same for iPad). Saying that, I wouldn't want a newer iOS device anyway as I'm not keen on the way Apple are heading with iOS 7.

Once my iPhone eventually dies, I'll likely check out the various android options as well as any new open systems that may exist by then. The most open device will likely get my money.
