Weeell, I have lost one. After I shot it. Or loosed it from its moorings on the notch/nock depending on the vocabulary you like best. You'd think that if you can't shoot them very far you couldn't lose them. But if you consider that sometimes there are bodies of water in the vicinity, you'd find it is, indeed, possible to lose them.
