I try to stay away from app store. I finally figure out how to get a local account yesterday after the 8.1 update so I am over the moon. I am using
Classic Shell and I love it. It gave me back my Start menu.
It looks just like Win 7 and Vista's version and works great. I also found a way to get my Quick Launch back as it's still in Win 8.1 you just got to know how to add it. Microsoft wants us jumping through hoops but I got my show desktop and switch windows buttons that were missing. I'm very happy with my desktop on my laptop now. There's also option in 8.1 that let's you boot straight to desktop. Now I can start installing programs.
