Maybe not everyone was inconvenienced equally. Maybe not everyone has the same customer record. Maybe people aren't all the same.

Be careful about what you think is 'unfair.' That kind of 'fair' would mean doing nothing nice for anyone except correcting the missing credit and saying 'sorry.'

Perhaps it would be better if people just refrained from publicly broadcasting how much of an apology credit they got, just as they refrain from bragging about bonuses and raises to coworkers.
