I have a Micro USB with the symbol and a B in a square on one side. UP on devices with an obvious front. On the Back side U[sub]L[/sub] and other markings.
Forget the 'Braille' method (I wear XL gloves) on those.

I don't think it is asking a lot to make an easy/non-confusing tactile mark.
