Indeed it is, pargoo, and so long as the thumbnail exists you see that in cover view. The embedded cover is only used in non-Amazon books, to extract a thumbnail, and when in the book the very first page is... the cover!!!
Many books cheat you out of your rightful cover -- Penguin is notorious for this -- but the thumbnail is still correct at least, which is most of what matters.
It's good to hear you finally got your covers back from them!
And if you want your covers inside the book, too, then use calibre to download metadata for the covers -- it will automatically be added when the book is sent to your Kindle, or you can use Polish ebook to fix it now.
