The Paperwhite 2013 is NOT a tablet. Obviously, tablets have far more uses than eReaders.
Thus, the proper comparison is the Kindle Fire HDX 2013 to the Nexus 7.
Personally, from what I read both are good tablets. However, the real choice is brand name and, of course, I reject all brands competing with Amazon brands due to the Amazon wide support network for thousands of products.
Neither Google nor Apple can match the Amazon consumer support net.
One feature is the instant Mayday feature on the HDX 2013 which neither the iPad nor Nexus can match. I use that feature all the time to reach Amazon Customer Support on all sorts of issues in SECONDS and I am not forwarded to India.
