So I wanted to update on this. My Galaxy Player is still just sitting at the service center waiting to be repaired. Right now the guys at Samsung are trying to get them to associate the correct serial number.
I've gone through like five people now.

I didn't get any real responses from anyone until YESTERDAY, and I talked to another person today. At least we're getting somewhere.
Not going to see it back until next month most likely.
