I've seen another survey, and while this is not an exact comparison study as it's not focused on holidays, children or ebooks and is only focused on tablets, it is a bit like comparing one variety of apples to another since it's about prospective tablet purchases, and makes what's already been pointed out about the iPad in the OP article even more glaring.
