I have just had another odd thing happen.
First I checked the devices the book was for, it was available for all the options, then I downloaded a sample with no problem. So then I bought the book, using the 95comic code and opted to pay the $1.50 with Paypal. I was redirected to Paypal and made the payment, but instead of it then flicking back to Kobo with the usual confirmed payment accepted page, it went to the payment page and had a message saying there was a problem with my payment. The subtotal on the payment page had changed to $0.00. I tried to pay the zero amount but it just said there had been an error. I just checked my bank and the $1.50 has gone from my account, and I got an email from Paypal to say the payment had been made. However the book is not in my library at all. Its not under Purchased or I'm Reading, its just not there at all. When I searched for the book again, it says its in my library. I have synced both my Kobo and the desktop app repeatedly, but still no book, probably because its not in my library.
So yet again they have taken my money and provided no way to download the book.
I know the money is a pittance, but thats not the point. Its outright fraud and theft to take my money and not provide the book.
And they have still never replied to my email about the last time this happened. The Chat is only available at times really inconvenient to me.
I cant see me ever buying from Kobo again, its simply not worth it. When I buy something I actually want to receive it. I would also never recommend the site to anyone and will be sure to warn everyone I know not to use them.
Amazon might be more expensive but at least you get what you pay for and their customer service is reliable.
Kobo suck.
