Blossom, i loved cat - i still do. i kept wishing a book or two with him as the star would pop up, but he was so perfect in windflower that it might be impossible to nail his personality a second time.
a few from my keeper shelf that i revisit regularly:
the windflower - the romance and the main characters are fine, but cat is wonderful.
california generation - maybe partly 'cause i'm a native californian who grew up in the late 60s and 70s. original ending is my favorite, but there are 3. the characters are so real to me and to some friends i have who also read it feel like the characters are old friends we knew in school.
edith layton's love trilogy - love in disguise, surrender to love and the game of love. titles are a bit lurid to me, but the writing is anything but. it's elegant and subtle, amazing characters (my favorite is warwick), character development and lots of really wonderful internal dialog.
frederica and the black both from georgette heyer. i love many of ms. heyer's novels, but these two are my favorites. the black moth is all the more amazing because she wrote it as a teenager and it's sooo good!
