They might be trying to compete with Amazon, especially with Amazon coming out with the Amazon BookMatch program. I've bought a ton of paperbooks through Amazon, and I was thrilled to hear about the matchbook program since I wanted ecopies of a lot of these books. And it seems that right around then was when Kobo started coming out with all of the good codes, doesn't it? Competition against Amazon was the first thing I thought of when all of the coupons started popping up. And it's certainly worked with us, hasn't it, keeping us focused on Kobo.
