Roseweave, if portability is critical for you, go for the 7-inch. But if larger format publications are a significant part of your reading, go for the 9-inch.

You may also want to consider that 9" models are not as plentiful as the 7" variety. Both the HD and HD+ are steals right now in the U.S. and on U.S. eBay. A year from now, it's likely I could still find another great bargain on a similar 7" tablet. But it might be much harder, if not impossible, for me to find a similar bargain in 9 inches with a display of this quality. The HD+ has a ppi of 256 which is essentially the same as the 264ppi of the iPad Air. So, because the HD+ seems to be a rarer bargain, I might go with that. It does weight 18ozs, however.
