Making a car self-drive requires a hardware interface between the software and the wheels, which means a hardware upgrade. Adding new software features can be backported to older hardware, since the software itself doesn't require new hardware. Please stop saying stupid things.
And the Amazon Kindle App of iOS is very much an Amazon Kindle, despite being on the iPad.
