Does the dumb user method you refer to work on 5.4.0? I haven't gone to 5.4.2 given that the new Cloud Collections thingy is a total disaster and so will be keeping my Kindle far away from that update

If untested on 5.4.0, what's the worst than can happen? Happy to try it if it won't do any more harm than just failing to install without messing anything up!
